“MD”/”Emudii” has been my pen since 1998. I’ve had it so long, it’s my real life nickname. So I guess I’m stuck with it. XD Luckily, I put very little out into the public domain during my purple prose phase, so I don’t feel so bad about not being able to get away from it. I’m pretty excited about seeing everyone again too! It’s like a high school reunion, except I can openly admit that I write gay porn to everyone in class! XD

I know what you mean. I had the same problem. What saves me from my own reclusive tendencies is my pen name. I take it with me everywhere, so a lot of my old readership has tracked me back to this place. I’d like to do right by all of them and keep on top of things this time. <3

My Big Year Writing Challenge is almost complete, weighing in at 92 of 100 fics posted. I probably should have been finished by now but I’ve been consumed with deployment for the last month or so. Hopefully, I’ll make goal next week anyway and be able to focus on my saga fics and an experimental run of art replies. I’m pretty attached to emudii as a text-only blog but its original purpose (and my reason for joining tumblr) was to train myself past my fear of sharing; and where I’ve become confident in myself as a writer, I’m still lacking as an artist. Posting casual sketches to places I know people aren’t looking won’t improve my self-confidence—making a commitment will.

#writing (and possibly #travels) will be disappearing from this blog.
I’m going to be doing actual travel reports, with photos as well as formally documenting my writing process—not just excerpts. For the folks who’ve expressed an interest, this is going to include conception, compilation, headcanon dissection, and a good dose of unfiltered ugly. At the risk of revealing how inaccurate and dumb I can sometimes be, on the first draft, there will be lots of raw writing. Because the truth is that writing is a journey, not a destination, and the road is full of potholes. Also ugly for my assorted neuroses, unfiltered. But let’s be honest. A completely balanced person probably doesn’t have anything really outstanding to write about.
Nothing set in stone for #travels yet. I half want it on my process blog, because what I do from day to day is obviously part of my process. Suggestions? NGL, mdbeans is really just a catch-all for random shit that lands on my dash. I could post about visiting foreign countries here, but most everything else on my blog isn’t the least bit insightful. (I’m open to making a military/travel blog, but I’d prefer to keep the number of blogs I run minimal. I already own six.)
